Confusion

To love but not know if your love is true
To want but be too scared to show longing
If a mind is broken, if a heart is trapped in a knot too strong to be released,
Then a soul you must depend on
But your soul tends to wander, to float away into the light
Out of your grasp as you reach
Your hand is pushed away as the light fades
You are left in the dark, trapped in a nightmare
You cannot fall asleep in a nightmare
You cannot rest and travel to a dream in a nightmare
You are alone
Cold starts to cover you into a cocoon
Chills creep up your spine as you sit in the darkness
A tear slowly slides down your cheek but no more will come
Too afraid to cry for the help you have longed for for so long
Too afraid to soak your face in your sorrows for fear they might see
You draw, you write, you learn, you know, you speak, you help, you run, you try, but no!
This you cannot do! This they cannot see!
They would never look at you the same if only they knew!
